Things are rocking and we haven't even yet gone totally live with our website. The VSECU just put up on their website the low-interest loans for cargobikes, e-bikes and transportation bikes of all sorts. It's just way cool to see that, but it's going to be even cooler when folks start using it. Our prediction is that this is gonna take off big time!!
And that news is wonderful timing because there are a couple of great cargobikes about to hit the market that are really Vermont ready. Yuba just announced it's mid-drive longtail called the Spicy Curry. What's different about he Spicy Curry is that it has a powerful mid-drive motor. Mid-drive systems are generally more efficient than regular hub motors.
To create this bike, Yuba has teamed up with Currie Technologies. A bike like this is really a sign of the times. More families are liking the cargobike idea and are now asking for bikes that can climb the hills of San Francisco or the mountains of Vermont. This model also has the option for a cargo rack in the rear or can be the kid hauler like you see above.

The other bike about to hit the market is the Xtracycle 10E. The 10E also has a mid-drive system, but this one was made by Bosch. The Bosch e-assist has a proven track record in Europe and it is the perfect application to use it on a cargobike. The 10E will work with all of Xtracycle's bags and other accessories. Xtracycle is the original longtail company and this bike looks to be another winner for them.
Both of these bikes will hit the market in the next couple of months and are sure to make a splash. With the extra efficiency and hill climbing ability, this is going to change things once again. But in order to buy one of these bikes you might need the help of the VSECU - we're looking at prices between $4,500 to $5,500. When you are ready, give VSECU a call!
