Josh Traeger, Outreach Southern VT & Western NH
Josh Traeger has been a passionate educator for over 25 years. His work has included environmental and outdoor education, kayak instruction, science education, classroom teaching and a stint as a park ranger. He enjoys working with people of all ages and helping to nurture their zest for life. While living in the San Francisco Bay Area some 15 years ago, Josh purchased one of Lee Iacocca’s eBikes (anyone remember those?) and became an early adopter and pioneer of electric bike in the US. With this bike he found that he was able to cut his commute time by half, plus he discovered the absolute joy and the many health benefits of riding a bicycle to work. Later, as Josh traveled to many states for work and resided in a number of major cities and rural areas, he consistently found bicycling to be the best way to commute, as well as being a great way to increase interactions with the locals and explore the landscape of a new community. Now settled in Southern Vermont for the past decade, Josh has joined VBike to share his passion of bicycling for everyday transportation. He happily rides 50-60 miles a week, preferring to do errands, drop off for school, and travel to work meetings by bicycle. You will often see him riding in the Brattleboro on his e-assisted cargo bike with his lovely daughter on board. She has caught the bike bug, too! Josh says "There's nothing quite like the good feeling of cruising through stand still traffic with the wind in your hair and a smile on your face on a vehicle that only requires you to pedal it while omitting the exhaust." |
