Take it Home* - Bring One of Our Bikes Home!
VBike is now offering folks in the Brattleboro area an opportunity to literally "take home" one of our fleet bikes to try out on your daily errands and rounds. Through our Take it Home program you get to feel just how exciting and fun it is to bring your kids and cargo around town without having to be within the confines of an automobile!
So, first we can provide you with one of our bike consultations to discuss what you are looking for and go over some of the bikes and options that fit your needs. After that, we will invite you and/or your family for a short demo and training period on our bikes, which includes important tips on staying safe. Then, if you want to take things further, we schedule you in to take a bike home for a period up to 3 days.
We call this our Take it Home* program and the "asterisk" is all about the sad fact that you have to bring the bike back to us. Yes, some folks get so taken with the bike that they really don't want to return it.
Take it Home and our bike consultations services are completely free to you. If you appreciate what we do we, then by all means make a contribution to VBike to help further our work and vision.
For years, our nation's bike companies, unlike their European counterparts, have vigorously promoted their products as mostly recreational in purpose. However, there is an exciting national movement underway reversing this industry trend, which is in part driven by the new bike designs and technologies. Without action, Vermont stands to be left behind in adopting these bike innovations as an effective countermeasure to the sprawl, obesity, sedentary lifestyles, traffic congestion, carbon pollution, climate change and other adverse local and global impacts associated with auto dependency.
Take it Home is a unique opportunity for families & households to gain a hands-on experience of the latest e-assist technologies & cargobike designs. By piloting this project in Brattleboro, VBike is working to develop a model and path for Vermont to become a leader in creative bicycle mobility solutions.
There really is no other program like it anywhere in the US. VBike is looking to make the Take it Home model available to Vermonters statewide as funding becomes available.
